Judith Barton

Director of Coaching & Mentoring

As the Founder and Director of Coaching and Mentoring at BSC, Judith leads the practice with 25 years experience of developing senior leaders in government and private sectors.  She has worked extensively in developing and delivering all of our programmes and works closely with our Director of Quality Assurance to ensure the highest professional standards in everything that we do.   In recent years she has led our work with the Crown Prosecution Service in the UK and for a major Education Group in the Middle East.  She also provides coaching supervision to the UK senior civil service including the Home Office.  Judith has led our expansion into the Middle East and in addition to delivering our in house and open programmes in the Region she enjoys her role as Executive Coach to Business & Professional Women in the Gulf following her appointment as Chief Assessor to three prestigious business awards.

Prior to BSC Judith had an impressive career in the public sector in health care management and higher education.

Her passion is using a highly effective solution-focussed approach in working with individuals to achieve their goals.

Keith McMann

Chairman

Keith is an accomplished ex PLC and IPO Director, with 23 years of experience in developing people at the top level in airline management. With his extensive experience in Airport management, revenue and customer service management, Keith uses his wealth of knowledge to develop and support coachees.

He has significant experience working internationally, notably working in the Gulf, Lebanon and Ireland as CEO of private airline Twinjet; and Passenger and Airports Director of Easyjet. This executive/boardroom background adds an increased flexibility and professional experience to BSC.

Maggie Clifton

Director of Quality Assurance

Maggie is one of BSC’s longest standing consultants and has been Director of Quality Assurance since 2006. Maggie’s focus is on ensuring BSC continues to provide the excellent standards of delivery and service that have been in place since its inception. Maggie trains all new assessors and leads the faculty and its continued quality assurance.

With a background in health service management, Maggie is a certified EFQM assessor, trainer and consultant and is an International Assessor for business awards in Dubai and Qatar. Her extensive experience as a Director and Manager in Clinical Healthcare and in research/ policy administration underpins BSC’s quality outcomes.

Martin Hill

Senior Tutor, & Business Coach

Martin is the Programme Director for the ILM Level 7 Executive Coaching and Mentoring and leads the delivery of this programme in the UK.  He is a very experienced trainer with a background in the public sector and over 20 years involvement in delivering training programmes to senior leaders and operational staff.  Martin is also very active in developing coaching as a discipline and has held various ‘extra-curricular’ roles within the profession, eg Committee Member EMCC and leads the group supervision work for the BSC network. He is also an Accredited Coaching Supervisor with the Association of Coaching Supervisors (AOCS)

As a coach Martin aims to provide a professional, ethical, non-judgmental and safe environment to facilitate the client to develop their skills and knowledge in order to achieve their goals, resulting in performance improvements for themselves and/or the organisation.

He most enjoys seeing the pleasure and excitement of a client who has achieved a “breakthrough” moment. He enjoys the unpredictability and excitement of not knowing what a client will bring to the session and the exhilaration of exploring the options and discoveries that the coaching conversation brings to the client, helping them achieve their potential.

Brenda McKay

Senior Tutor and Business Coach

Brenda is the Programme Director for the ILM Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring and also delivers the ILM Level 7 Executive Coaching and Mentoring programmes. In addition, we have a rapidly growing practice in wellbeing coaching which is led by Brenda. She has 26 years of experience working in the private sector using ​coaching and mentoring as a fundamental solution to issues of staff performance, collegiality, morale and support. Brenda was also key in maximising resources and team performance through periods of change in senior management in the private and public health care sector. As a board member, her responsibilities were for a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural workforce which included a leadership team as well as other staff.  Brenda is also very active in developing coaching within the public sector as a discipline and supports various projects as a personal tutor and coach supervisor. Her mission is to help others to make lasting and effective positive change by using proven and easy to apply, methods. Her approach encourages and supports the individual towards reflection and action, to overcome obstacles, turning them into positive results, thus helping individuals achieve accountability, personal satisfaction and balance.

Shelagh O'Leary

Senior Tutor and Business Coach

Shelagh has over 25 years’ experience as a human resource development professional having worked in local government, the criminal justice sector and more recently the National Health Service. She has been instrumental in the development of HR strategy, organisational development, leadership development, talent management and the delivery of training and education, nationally and internationally. She is an executive coach and has specialised as a career coach with a wide range of clients in the public and private sector. Shelagh has operated at board level having been a member of Skills for Justice, and is a member of the CIPD membership and CPD committee. She is also a member of the Career Development Institute, the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and the Institute of Directors.

Lynn Delaney

Lynn works within a strategic role in a public sector environment.  She is a HR professional and an Executive coach and Leadership Mentor.  She is passionate about supporting others to develop and reach their potential through coaching, mentoring and other learning and development opportunities.

Lynn is the Chair of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Liverpool Group, part of the wider Merseyside and North Cheshire Branch – where she has been a volunteer for over 5 years.

Virginia Raymond

Consultant & Tutor

Virginia’s background is in the Performing Arts, which included many years of teaching dance in education in primary and secondary schools in Dubai. This has given her a unique skill set in terms of working collaboratively and instinctively in a coaching style, knowledge and skills which have been built on and refined through a series of ILM qualifications. As well as working with children, Virginia has also supported teaching colleagues, including middle leaders in education, in dealing with the day to day stressful situations that exist in many schools today. She has a particular interest in developing Young Leaders and enjoys working with women who are also small business owners. Both of these areas present their own peculiar challenges, challenges which are of special relevance in the current economic and social environment.

Ana Paula Nacif

Ana is an accredited coach, trainer and facilitator, with over seven years’ experience in design and delivery of training programmes in commercial, public and not-for-profit organisations. Ana provides training in management, leadership & coaching. She also provides facilitation support for teams and leadership group events and workshops. Ana’s areas of specialisation are leadership, management, wellbeing, personal development, career transition

David Llewellyn

David is an experienced senior manager with over 25 years’ experience in financial services and commercial businesses, as well as running a small business. His career has included several roles with a major international bank and he has also served as Chairman and Director of a limited company representing speciality food and drink producers

His specialist areas of expertise include entrepreneurship, change management, sales and marketing, financial management and general business management skills, including coaching. He has a “can do” approach and is highly experienced in working with clients – both in the UK and internationally – to design and deliver bespoke training programmes and consultancy to meet specific business needs. His style is to deliver a highly interactive and participative programme facilitating discussion around accepted principles and practice with each delegate supported to consider how these will work in practice in the context of their own role / organisation

John Macdonald

John has over 20 years experience in people management and development. With his varied roles in HR as Director & VP for various large corporates, he has coached, mentored and is a facilitator for various training programmes in the Middle East. John provides executive coaching, mentoring, leadership and HR training and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. His specialist areas have been in HR and his coaching focus has primarily been in helping newly promoted executives to build their influence and impact. He also provides facilitation support for teams and leadership group events and workshops.

Martyn Ellis

Martyn is a qualified coach and leadership development trainer with over 15 years’ experience in Learning & Development. He specialises in delivering leadership development programmes, leadership coaching, executive coaching, action learning, career management, talent development, team development, learning & development consultancy, outplacement support and facilitation. Martyn’s  practice as an Executive Coach has focused on providing leaders with the tools to achieve positive outcomes for themselves and their organisations.

Laurence Sutton

Laurence has expertise coaching for leadership  development and performance improvement. He brings expertise from 25 years of operational and strategic leadership at board level, in a legal and public service environment. As an Executive Coach, Laurence works with leaders and aspiring leaders to help them to sharpen their performance, to develop and adapt their strengths to cope with the huge demands in their areas of responsibility and careers.

In addition to his work as an Executive Coach, Laurence has held senior strategic roles at regional and national level, responsible for up to 850 staff working across multiple sites. He has significant experience in leading and managing major change.  He has first hand experience around the introduction of new ways of working, merging of areas and reorganisation, whilst maintaining and improving performance outcomes.

 

Ann Armstrong Reid

Ann has over 25 years leadership experience in public health from working with the National Health Service in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Ann became Accredited as an Executive Coach with the Association for Coaching in 2012 and is also a Coach Supervisor. Being cognizant with a number of coaching supervision models and frameworks and using mindfulness in her approach brings a depth and diversity to her way of working.

From living and working in different cultures, experience of qualitative research, ongoing system change and her own personal and professional journey, she has learned what supports people to be productive and what sometimes gets in the way.

Angie Turner

Angie is a qualified coach, facilitator, mentor and trainer with over 25 years’ experience working with senior and middle management teams in both the public and private sectors.

She is a certified practitioner, trainer of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and is a qualified facilitator of MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) who has developed a deep understanding of neuroscience as a result of her curiosity about human behaviour. As a coach, she has a very flexible and solution focused approach, she helps individuals build self-awareness, explore their true potential and discover what may be holding them back.  Her calm yet focused style allows her to ask challenging and insightful questions that help bring clarity to difficult or complex issues.  Her positive and encouraging support inspire her clients to see alternative perspectives and find practical and workable solutions to achieve their goals. As a trainer she has gained an excellent reputation for designing and delivering practical and interactive training that produces measurable and long-lasting results.

Jo Cutler

Jo is a coach, coach supervisor and leadership development specialist, focusing on enabling leaders, teams and individuals to be the best that they can be.  With 20 years’ experience in L&D, Jo has led and supported on projects to deliver leadership development, performance improvement and organisational change in sectors as diverse as higher education, utilities, automotive industry and the not-for profit sector.  Jo is an outcome-oriented coach, focussing on facilitating personal insight with the aim of making mind-set and behavioural change.  Typical coaching areas include developing resilience, confidence and emotional intelligence, managing change, career transitions, improving work-life-balance, identifying and developing strengths, stakeholder and relationship management, and maximising one’s own leadership style and skills to perform well, deliver greater engagement and get the best from others.

 

Trish Hannen

Trish is a Leadership and Development Coach and Mentor, with 20 years’ experience as a solicitor and manager in the public sector. Having had the benefit of external one-to-one coaching in her first management role, and the guidance and support of experienced colleagues, Trish realised how powerful coaching and mentoring could be, and that this was something she wanted to do for other people.

Trish is a​n​ ​ILM Qualified Coach, a ​Fellow of the International Society of Qualified Coaches, and a Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Katherine Powell

BSc (Hons), PGCE, MAC, EMCC

Katherine has a degree in Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), a certificate in executive and team coaching as well as additional qualifications or training in MBTI®, Transactional Analysis, Well-Being Coaching and NLP. She is a fellow of the International Society of Qualified Coaches (ISQC), a member of EMCC and the Association for Coaching, a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and follows AC, EMCC and ICF ethical guidelines. Katherine currently coaches existing and aspiring executive leaders working in companies such as Pay.UK, Sky, Just Eat, CBRE and Apana as well as senior figures in local government, education and other charitable organisations. Katherine is a proud advocate of using coaching to empower women into executive leadership and runs a pro-bono coaching programme to support this endeavour. Katherine has just completed ten years as an OfSTED Inspector.

 

Helen Woodcock

Helen is an experienced QA manager with an extensive background in process improvement, auditing and change management. Helen is a qualified Agile project manager with a MSc in Project Management and a BSc (Hons) Business Management in Marketing as well as being a APM Change Management Practitioner. In addition to this Helen has a long history in customer relationship management and brand management and marketing.

Charles Wickham

Support Mentor

Charles joined BSC in 2016 after studying a BSc (Hons) in Geography at Lancaster University. He was one of the first graduates of our new Level 2 Young Leaders Award. Since starting at BSC he has been involved in developing the Young Leaders Programme. As a Support Mentor, he has assisted in delivering the course to new learners. Charles is keen to develop the Young Leaders Course for graduates and apprentices, including guidance on careers and support.

Irene Rosylin

Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager, Irene manages the supervision of the business operations and administration of BSC. With her experience in the Middle East, she supports clients based in the UAE, Qatar, Oman & Asia. Irene has been with the organisation since 2003 and overlooks the training activities, ensures the team functions smoothly and clients are happy. She also looks after the brand management aspect as well as digital marketing.

Amy Southern

Programme Manager

As Programme Manager, Amy provides support to consultants and learners whilst organising the qualification programmes across the UK. Amy is likely to be the first person you will speak to and will support you throughout your time with BSC.

Amy joined BSC in 2014 whilst studying for a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. She enjoys meeting and supporting clients and making sure our courses are run to our usual high standards.

Iain Watts

Iain has been with BSC for 3 years, providing background support to projects and courses, keeping in touch with the team and clients and looking after BSC’s presence on the web.  He is also our first ever in-house professional photographer!
